WSIB 2027 Premium Rates
October 2026
The WSIB has announced its class premium rates for 2027. The average Schedule 1 premium rate will decrease from $1.23 to $1.18 per $100 of insurable earnings.
According to the WSIB, more than 80% of premium-paying businesses are expected to receive a rate reduction. The largest decrease is in Class L – Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (-16.7%). The new set of rates will see five classes of employers experience increases from their 2026 class rate. These classes, and the extent of change from their 2026 class rates, are:
- D3 – Hospitals (+1.8%)
- F1 – Rail, Water, Truck Transportation and Postal Service (+0.6%)
- F2 – Air, Transit, Ground Passenger, Recreational and Pipeline Transportation, Courier Services and Warehousing (+2.8%)
- N2 – Nursing and Residential Care Facilities (+2.4%)
- P – Other Services (+0.8%)
Employers will be able to access their individual 2027 premium rate statements through WSIB Online Services beginning in November 2026. Recall that the class rate is only one factor used to determine an actual premium rate. Individual employer rates are also influenced by factors such as claim costs and frequency, risk profile, and predictability measures under the WSIB’s rate-setting framework.
For 2027, the maximum insurable earnings ceiling will increase from $121,700 in 2026 to $126,700
